I reposted this video now that I was able to figure out my audio/video syncing problem. My apologies to those that watched the out of sync version. The Klingtones have agreed to join me again! This time I convinced them to join me with ukulele as well as backup vocals. This is a beautiful mele written in the 1800s. I fell in love with this song when I heard the wonderful versions done by the late greats Moe Keale and Sonny Chillingworth. The classic Kaula Ili (The Lariat), tells of a paniolo who is roping wild cattle when his horse stumbles into a lava tube hidden in tall grass. The cowboy manages to climb out of the lava tube and get back on his horse. Oh never mind, ke hina pu ua hiki no,; if you fall, never mind, you get up and ride again. I am playing my two favorite ukes for this song. The main uke is a tenor built by the late and wonderful Les Rietfors, completed on Valentine's day 2004. The Klingtones are using the incredible Kiwaya KW-2T cutaway. If my Hawaiian pronunciation is not perfect, please forgive me. It is not from lack of caring or trying. Also, I apologize that the audio/video are sometimes a little out of sync. For whatever reason it is syncd fine until I transfer to final version and have yet to figure out why.
